During a briefing session with a parliamentary committee over the progress of nuclear talks with 5+1, Araghchi denied the claims made by an Iranian lawmaker Javad Karimi-Ghoddousi and once again stressed his and FM Zarif’s objection to inspections or visits to any military centers or interviews with Iranian nuclear scientists.
Iranian MP Karimi-Ghoddousi was quoted by the Fars news agency as saying: "Mr. Araghchi said that inspections of military sites have been accepted but the inspections are regulated and will be seriously managed."
Araghchi, while calling the meeting constructive and fruitful, said, "we presented necessary explanations regarding security measures which countries implementing the Additional Protocol usually take in order to protect their military, nuclear and industrial information and prevent espionage."
In his Instagram post issued last night, Araghchi wrote: "What can we do except put the fate of Mr. Karimi-Ghoddousi and Fars News Agency in the hands of God?" under a picture of a Fars headline that read, "we accepted the inspection of military sites."
