In a telephone conversation with UN Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on Sunday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said the Islamic Republic of Iran supports Yemeni-Yemeni talks with participation of all parties, stressing that Iran supports the UN's efforts in this regard, IRNA reported.
“Yemeni political parties and groups can achieve a sustainable agreement under the auspices of the UN,” Iranian diplomat stressed.
While consulting and exchanging views on the latest developments in Yemen, Amir-Abdollahian pointed to the violations of five-day ceasefire and continuing aggression against the defenseless people of Yemen and stressed the need for speeding up the aid, especially food and medical assistance to the innocent people of Yemen.
“The UN and relief aid organizations should adopt a comprehensive, urgent and regular program for dispatch of aids to Yemen; the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's role in this regard is important,” Amir-Abdollahian added.
