TEHRAN, Mar. 13 (MNA) -- Director Jamil Rostami announced on Sunday that he is currently preparing to make his new film “Doll Without a Shadow”.

He said that he has traveled to Iraq, France, Greece, and Egypt to choose locations and that the pre-production stage will begin in May.

The film tells the story of the massacre of 182,000 Iraqi Kurds who were buried alive by Baathist forces after the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war because they supported Iran.

“The film ‘Doll Without a Shadow’ narrates the story of one of the victims who was able to escape and returns home after 14 years to look for his family,” he said, adding that it is going to be a big-budget movie with a large cast of Iranian and foreign actors.

He stated that his latest movie, “The Elegy of Snow”, which was an entry to the 23rd Fajr International Film Festival but was overlooked by festival organizers, should have been a nominee in various sections.

“I believe the film was warmly received by the audience during the screening at the festival,” he said in conclusion.
