TEHRAN, Apr. 28 (MNA) – Iran's president congratulated his Kazakh counterpart on the occasion of his victory in the country's presidential election.

In a message to his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev on Monday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani extended his felicitations over his victory in country's presidential election.

Rouhani voiced Tehran's enthusiasm for enhancing all-out ties with Astana.

Rouhani expressed hope that under the new term of his Kazakh counterpart and in the light of the joint efforts, relations between the two countries would be promoted towards bilateral interests and the development of regional and international peace and stability.

74-year-old Nazarbayev, who has ruled the country since 1989, won 97.7 percent of the votes in Sunday's election, securing a new five-year term.
