Mohammad Khodakarami told Mehr News reporters “noting the population of Iran, foreign airlines are willing to take part in our flights.”
Pointing to an MoU signed between Iran and Portugal to establish a flight route, the official said a Greek airline has asked for launching 3 flights a week, while Alitalia is seeking to increase its flights to 5 per week.”
“Turkish airlines as well as Air Asia have demanded to raise the number of flights,” added he.
He continued “We have no airline from American continent in Iran and the long distance make the flights of this route exclusive to some airlines; however two Iranian airlines have the capability of covering the route.”
The official noted Iranian passengers who travel to American continent, saying “at the moment these travelers are transferring by European and Arabic airlines.”
