Iranian Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, Iran’s Military Advisor Brigadier General Mohammadi-Far and a group of Iran’s Ground Force commanders unveiled five new domestically-built armament in Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization of the armed forces.
Armed robot
The remote-controlled robot is equipped with four-wheel drive system and can be programmed for reconnaissance and combat missions within an operational range of 2 kilometers.
Wheeled tank
The wheeled tank, dubbed Aqareb, is equipped with a 90 mm-caliber cannon and a 12.7 mm machine gun. Equipped with the latest generation of fire control systems, it has 8 drive wheels and four crew.
Capable of carrying loads up to 600 kg, it can be armed with machine guns, air-defense or anti-armor missiles.
Baher 23 mm caliber sniper rifle
The 23 mm caliber sniper rifle can hit targets within a range of 4 kilometers with anti-armor bullets. Baher weighs 62 kg and requires 3 crew for firing.
Shaher 14.5 mm caliber sniper rifle
Equipped with a 5-round magazine, the 14.5-mm caliber Shaher sniper rifle with a cylinder magazine is another weapon which went on display today. Shaher weighs 24kg and has a range of 3km.
Fallagh rocket launcher
Fallagh launcher which is capable of opening heavy fire on the targets enjoys high maneuverability. It can also be stationed rapidly and has good mobility for difficult terrains.
Iran has recently made great achievements in its defense industry and has reached self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
Iran has repeatedly assured other countries that its military might poses no threat to other states, insisting that the country’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
