TEHRAN, Feb. 18 (MNA) – Iran’s President, while strongly condemning the brutal, inhuman and anti-Islamic act against 21 Egyptian Christian citizens, said supporters of terrorism should stop their evil acts and apologize to the nations of the world.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani made the remarks Tuesday in a meeting of the Cultural Revolution Supreme Council.

He hailed the passionate and massive presence of the Iranian nation in rallies of the Revolution anniversary, saying that people took to the streets with the same vitality, spirit and faith toward the way they chose thirty-six years ago and showed the world their adherence to the ideals of Imam Khomeini and guidelines of the Leader.

Expressing regret that ISIL perpetrates the crimes in the name of Islam and Muslims, Rouhani stressed that the terrorist acts and savagery have nothing to do with Islam.

“No aware consciences accept such crimes against humanity,” he said, adding that showing such images, they stir hatred and violence.

President Rouhani criticized those who initially supported the terrorists and funded them and said, “They should apologize to the world nations and history for their evil acts, and those who most regretfully are still supporting these terrorists should give up their backing for the terrorists," he underscored.

Deploring the brutal killing of the Egyptian Coptic Christians as a savage, un-Islamic and inhuman act by ISIL terrorist group, President Rouhani extended his condolences to the bereaved families of the victims of the tragic incident.
