Attending the unveiling ceremony of tubular centrifuge machines used for producing recombinant medicine at Pasteur Drug and Vaccine Production Institute in Tehran on Tuesday, Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) maintained that the tubular centrifuge had a rotating power of 14,000 to 17,000 rounds per minute.
Iran has already declared that it wants tubular centrifuges for improving its manufacturing of biotechnology products.
According to Salehi, AEOI has over 15,000 work force and is considered one of the highly accomplished organizations in Iran.
He noted under the MoU signed between AEOI and the Ministry of Health last year, equipment better than their foreign versions will be produced.
“Hopefully, in 6 to 7 months from now we will start the design and production of third generation centrifuges,” said Salehi during the ceremony.
He also maintained that AEOI was planning to establish a specialized hospital with 800 beds for offering full nuclear services to patients.
According to him, a conference with the participation of Muslim countries will be held in Tehran some time in September 2015 which can facilitate Iran’s centrifuge exports.
Salehi expressed hope for producing centrifuges with a rotating power of 80,000 rounds per minute by August with lower costs and higher quality.
