KERMAN, Feb. 04 (MNA) – Kerman’s IRGC Sarallah Unit deputy commander has announced the discovery of some remaining equipments belonging to Qatari illegal hunters.

General Mohammad Motahari remarked that they have discovered the corpse of a trained bird in Kerman which belonged to a group of Persian Gulf littoral Arab states citizens.

“A GPS was located inside the body of the bird that was capable of transmitting information within the radius of 10km,” he said, noting that the bird itself was at least 5,500 dollars and the tracking device on it cost between 70,000 to 180,000 dollars.

According to the report, the discovered bird was carrying a ring around its feet with Qatar’s initials ‘QTR.' He maintained that there had been other accounts of illegal hunting of Iranian rare species of birds by some groups from the Arab states.

“In 1995, a number of Arab illegal hunters had been arrested in a region in Sistan and Baluchestan Province,” he said.

Unfortunately, illegal hunters from Persian Gulf littoral Arab states trespass into various regions in Iran to hunt down rare bird species that are at the point of extinction and bring them back to their own countries for breeding.

Houbara is one of the protected and rare species of birds in Kerman Province in which Arab states of Persian Gulf are deeply interested.
