TEHRAN, Jan. 03 (MNA) – The 13th edition of Iran’s International Resistance Film Festival (IRFF) on the theme of ‘Sacred Defense’ will screen productions in Damascus tomorrow.

The Islamic Revolution and Sacred Defense Cinematic Community launched the 13th edition of IRFF with a special focus on ‘Resistance, Wisdom and Prosperity’ on Iran’s Sacred Defense Week from September 22 through 29, 2014.

The festival has formerly taken place in various regional countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey, India and Palestine. The Syrian capital will also host the festival tomorrow January 4.

Notable productions to be screened are Ebrahim Hatamikia’s Che, Masoud Atyabi’s Soil and Coral, Ehsan Abdipour’s All Alone among other titles.

Che depicts 48 hours of Mostafa Chamran's life, who was the first post-Islamic Revolution defense minister of Iran.

Soil and Coral is a drama about an Afghan man who has left his country when his wife was killed during the war. Now he must go back to Kabul for the wedding of one of his daughters but unwillingly gets involved in an internal conflict.

All Alone is the first experience of director Ehsan Abdipour and won 11 awards at the 31st International Fajr Film Festival. It embarks on the efforts of Iranian researchers for access to peaceful nuclear energy, and at the same time illustrates the hostility of the Zionists towards them.
