TEHRAN, Dec. 21 (MNA) – CEO of Iranian Helicopter Company (IHC) has announced the company’s readiness to launch air taxi operations in various parts of the country.

Seyed Mahmoud Azin announced on Sunday that with the coordination of institutions and related organizations, some 30 helicopters will be stationed in various parts of the country to facilitate air travel and bring passengers to their destination in one-hour flights.

While maintaining that these helicopters could be used in all search and rescue fields he added “they could also be used in exploration and exploitation of oil and mineral resources, tourism, injured transfer, as well as geophysical operations, filming and photography.”

Azin pointed to the capacities of Iran’s fleet of helicopters and said, “IHC has a high capacity for various helicopter operations. It can easily cover any industrial, mining, offshore platforms, oil and construction projects across the country.”

He also touched upon the company’s capability in repair and maintenance of helicopters saying, “these services are provided for IHC helicopter fleet at a base in Shiraz. Other than its own helicopters, the company will provide overhaul for other companies’ fleets as well.”

Iranian Helicopter Company (IHC) provides aerial services to applicants in accordance with the I.R.I. Civil Aviation Organization and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. It owns some 30 helicopters of different types inculding Lama, Alouette III, Ecureuil B2 and B3 Puma, and Bell 212 and 205.
