TEHRAN, Dec. 15 (MNA) – Iran and Germany seek improvement of level of cooperation on various fields, said German Bundestag representative Niels Anen on Sunday.

In a Sunday meeting between Bundestag Representative and the Fforeign Policy Spokesperson of the SPD Party, Niels Annen and Head of Iran’s Center for Strategic Research Ali Akbar Velayati, the two sides discussed Iran and Germany common interests, various ways for maintaining dialogue as well as the regional issues.

Velayati, while stressing the shifting of the equations in favor of the Middle East, added, “powerful and influential countries must further their cooperation in bringing about stability to the region and the world.”

“This special cooperation could be in regard to combating terrorism, and the Islamic Republic has already exploited its full capacity and capabilities in this regard and will take all the necessary steps to fight terrorism,” said Velayati.

Niels Annen, for his part, underlined the good relations between Iran and Germany, and welcomed the idea of exchanging various delegations at all levels to expand ties between the two countries.

“We are making endeavors to improve the level of cooperation between the two countries and already a great number of German companies are looking forward to have economic interactions with Iran,” said the German MP.

Annen also touched upon the threat of ISIL and said, “Iran and Germnay share common concerns especially over regional issues such as ISIL, Syria and Iraq. We are hoping to further consultations by exchanging ideas on these serious issues."
