MINAB, Dec. 15 (MNA) – Shab-e Yalda is an Iranian festival celebrated on the 'longest and darkest night of the year,' i.e. the night between the last day of the ninth month and the first day of the tenth month on Persian calendar [Dec. 22]. Iranian families gather and enjoy spending the night together. Watermelon, the red color of which symbolizes the glow of life, is traditionally decorated and eaten on this night.
