TEHRAN, Dec. 08 (MNA) – Iranian prof. is appointed as director of the Urological Association of Asia.

According to IRNA, Dr Seyed Jalil Hosseini, from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services has been appointed as periodical head of the Urological Association of Asia.

The directorship of this association changes annually and this is the first time an Iranian expert has been elected for the position.

Hosseini said Asian Congress of Urology was a biennial event, but due to the high acclamation of the event, it is now held annually and “the new director is introduced each year along with the congress,” he added.

The new head of UAA assessed infrastructures such as progress in Urology, preeminent experts, and security of a country as possible reasons behind offering directorship to an Iranian expert.

12th Asian Congress of Urology has been launched in December 5 at kish Island and will continue till Tuesday, December 9.

The congress is formed by participation of 12 countries; however, Turkey and UAE have recently joined as members due to efforts made by Iran’s Urology Association.

The 12th congress has 40 lecturers from Europe, US and Canada. From Asian countries 60 participants are attending the event. Iran also has 70 lecturers at the 12th ACU.
