Tehran, Nov. 25 (MNA) – Allameh Tabataba’i Unversity hosted heads of Indian universities and signed a memorandum of cooperation between Iranian and Indian universities.

Professor Ahmad Talaat, head of Jamia Millia Islamia University, Professor J. N. Ghazi, head of Hamdard University, and Professor Mashahed Hossein, head of Rohikland University were present in Allameh Tabataba’i University meeting, consulting and discussing over establishing and expanding scientific cooperation.

Allameh Tabataba’i University President Doctor Hossein Salimi expressed hope that this meeting would be the beginning for the development of relations between universities in Iran and India.

Pointing to the changes in the scientific and cultural policies of Iran by new government, Dr. Salimi described signing a memorandum of cooperation between Allameh Tabataba’i University and Indian universities implementing professor and student exchanges and other scientific cooperations between the two parties.

After introducing their respective universities, the Indian guests provided information about the majors of study, research and training facilities as well as the number of professors and students.

They expressed willingness to sign a memorandum of cooperation, emphasizing familiarity with Iranian culture and civilization of along with academic cooperation among the objectives of their bilateral ties.

After consultations, a memorandum of cooperation was signed separately by Dr. Salimi and Indian heads in order to promote academic ties between the two countries.
