TEHRAN, Sep. 24 (MNA) – French companies have expressed eagerness to invest in Port of Chabahar in south of Sistan and Baluchistan Province.

Representatives from Bolloré, a French investment and industrial holding group, visited Iran and conducted an investment feasibility study on Port of Chabahar, and expressed their eagerness to invest in this port.

During a meeting with economic and investment managers of Chabahar Free Trade and Industrial Zone, foreign ministry representatives, and the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs, Philippe Léveillé a representative from Bolloré investment holding announced that the company is eager to invest in Port of Chabahar.

“Conditions in this port are beyond our expectations,” said Léveillé, “and due to its proximity to international markets and access to the Indian Ocean, it has great potential for investment.”

He noted that the aim of his trip to this port was to develop trade and investment exchanges with Iran, and said, “in today’s competitive world of investment, Port of Chabahar holds a significant position for great investment opportunities.”

Bolloré, a paper-energy-plantations-logistics conglomerate, has 28,000 employees around the world and is ranked amongst the top 200 European companies.

Siavash Rezvani, the General Director of Maritime Affairs of Sistan and Baluchestan, maintained that “Port of Chabahar has a strategic position due to its accessibility to international waters and the deep water in the Persian Gulf provides favorable conditions for large ships to land in this region; moreover, building affordable and economical port facilities are another advantage to this port.”

The Port of Chabahar is located in the south of Sistan and Baluchistan Province. Because of its establishments and ease of access to ocean as well as Oman Sea and Persian Gulf, it offers great opportunites for business, trade and investment.
