TEHRAN, Sep. 21 (MNA) – Iran will display "Today”, directed by Reza Mirkarimi, in the 87th Oscar Academy Awards.

Spokesman of Iranian Cinema Selection Committee Amir Esfandiari said “after having reviewed 10 films shortlisted as the country's preliminary nominees for this year’s Oscar Awards, this committee finally decided to select Today as Iran’s representative at the Best Foreign Language Film section of the 2015 Academy Awards.

This movie was screened at the Contemporary World Cinema Section at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, and received positive reviews.

Today is a 2014 Iranian drama film directed by Reza Mirkarimi. It narrates the life of a taxi driver who helps a young woman to get to the hospital, unaware that many unexpected events await him on the way.

A Separation, a 2011 Iranian drama film written and directed by Asghar Farhadi, won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2012, becoming the first Iranian film to win the award.
