Deputy Director of Research at Islamic Azad University of Isfahan told IRNA on Sunday that “Presidents of about 190 universities from around the world will attend this annual conference in Isfahan in April 2015.”
Payam Najafi continued: “This conference hosted by Islamic Azad University of Isfahan is sponsored by the university’s International Affairs Department in collaboration with Oxford University.”
Najafi stated that ASAIHL aims to aid fostering the development of member universities and added that “to achieve this goal, an annual conference is held in one of the member universities.”
“This conference will focus on regional and international cooperation in research, knowledge transfer and investment, joint courses and currency issues,” added he.
ASAIHL was founded in 1956 as a non-governmental organization at a meeting in Bangkok of the heads of eight state universities in Southeast Asia. Some of the organization’s objectives and services include providing opportunities for regular meetings for academic developments, aiding member institutions in hiring faculty members and staff, exchanging teachers and students and improving relations with regional and international institutions.
