Mahdi Karimi, the deputy-director of Ertebatat Zirsakht (Communication Infrastructure) Telecommunications Company, who was speaker in the inauguration ceremony, cited improvement of data network security, analysis and handling of the security threats, and creating of a safe and secure environment free of different types of cyber attacks as the major objectives of the project.
“About 7 to 8 million cyber attacks target Iran’s communication infrastructure daily, a larger portion of which are anonymous attacks on financial sector, industry and sensitive networks,” added he.
Karimi also mentioned proper measures taken to safely respond the threats. “Data network security operation center uses security facilities to detect and neutralize threats with origins at home or abroad,” he said, and that “the center is monitored by an integrated and centralized management core.”
Karimi also said that the center would collect information on the security threats, save data, and analyze and response to cyber attacks as its responsibilities, among others.
“The center collects information about firewalls and antivirus in network level, normalizes data, and reports on what is currently taking place,” Karimi asserted.
