TEHRAN, Aug. 20 (MNA) – Iranian ambassadors to other countries will visit Fordow nuclear site today Wednesday.

A group of Iranian ambassadors to foreign countries, who are recently in Iran for their annual meetings, will visit Fordow nuclear site near Qom to know more about the country’s capabilities and technologies in nuclear field.

Fordow is a village in Fordow Rural District, Kahak District, Qom County, Qom Province, Iran. Its Fuel Enrichment Plant is the Islamic Republic of Iran's second pilot enrichment plant (the first is the Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant at Natanz).

Fordow is producing uranium enriched to 20-percent purity. Iran decided to enrich uranium to the 20-percent purity to supply fuel for Tehran Research Reactor, which produces medical isotopes for cancer patients, after potential suppliers failed to provide the Islamic Republic with the required uranium.
