TEHRAN, Aug. 12 (MNA) – Iran’s parliament members have collected signatures to impeach minister of Science, Technology and Research.

Mehr Parliament correspondent reports that in a public session on Tuesday, a request for impeachment of Reza Faraji Dana which was earlier signed by 51 members of the parliament was officially announced by parliament speaker.

Some questioning MPs will question the minister and he should answer the questions to satisfy parliamentarians to give a confidene vote to him again or he will be sacked by Majlis.

Signatories and Faraji Dana held several session discussing the issues to possibly avoid impeachment, but he failed to convince MPs and th eimpeachment was finally intorduced to the floor. 

Iran’s Parliament speaker Ali Larijani said on Tuesday that according to the constitution the impeachment of  the minister of Science, Technology and Research should be held within next ten days.

According to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s constitution, a minster is impeachable with at least ten parliamentarians signing an impeachment request.
