In Pakistan, protesters took to the streets of Lahore to condemn the international community’s silence about Israel’s “shameless human rights violations.” The protesters also accused the US of supporting Israel’s massacres in Gaza. In several other countries, including Germany, Austria, Britain and Japan, demonstrations were also held condemning Zionists’ massacre of Gazans.
In France, however, the protests turned violent as Police used force and tear gas against the demonstrators.
Demonstrations within Israel
Palestinian citizens in Israel clashed with police in the northern city of Nazareth on Monday, police said, at the end of a protest against Israel's deadly military strikes in the Gaza Strip.
Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said about 200 in Nazareth clashed with security forces, who responded with water cannon and stun grenades, arresting 16 people after the 3,000-strong demonstration in largest Arab city in the occupied territories.
Demonstrators held up placards reading "Israeli army commits genocide in Gaza."
Also in the occupied West Bank cities of Ramallah and Nablus, Palestinian protestors gathered on the streets of Nazareth to condemn Tel Aviv’s massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and express solidarity with the people.
Israel’s offensives on Gaza started July 8 on air and ground and over 500 were murdered in the city and thousands injured so far.
Nearly 600 Palestinians, 40 Israelis murdered
The clashes came as Nazareth and cities in the West Bank observed a general strike to mourn the victims of the Gaza that has claimed more than 570 Palestinian lives in two weeks.
Also Palestinian resistance fighters killed over 40 Israeli soldiers since Tel Aviv started its offensive in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Zionists use sniper fire
A video has emerged showing Israeli soldiers using sniper fire to kill a Palestinian civilian in the besieged Gaza Strip.
The video footage, released by the International Solidarity Movement, shows an injured Palestinian civilian being shot dead by Israeli soldiers’ sniper fire in Gaza’s Shejaiya neighborhood.
Nasrallah confident in resistance capacity
Lebanon's Hezbollah is backing the Palestinian resistance in Gaza to defeat Israel, the Shia movement's leader Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Monday.
Nasrallah expressed his "complete confidence in the resistance's capacity to defend itself and to achieve a new victory in July," a reference to Israel's failure to crush Hezbollah in its July 2006 offensive against Lebanon.
