TEHRAN, July 20 (MNA) – Iran participates in international RoboCup 2014 in Brazil set up on Saturday.

Robots for home activities assistance, robots which play soccer and rescue robots will perform to compete each other in different fields.

Six teams from Iran’s Amirkabir University of Technology with 32 students of several fields of mechanics, computer, electronics and robotics attend the occasion.

The event was set up on Saturday with 47 countries participating in the competition. Main competitions will be on July 21-24 and the contestants will attend symposium on July 25.

RoboCup 2014 is supported by the Paraíba State Government, Brazilian Sport Ministry, Brazilian Computing Society and a high number of Brazilian and world universities.

The competition is organized worldwide by RoboCup Federation, institution analogous to FIFA in the robots soccer universe. More than 2500 contestants from 47 countries and more than 60,000 visitors are expected to attend the event.
