TEHRANB, June 29 (MNA) – Deputy Minister of Agriculture has said Mallaht has started harvesting of 45 million gladioluses and chrysanthemums in this summer.

Qasem Ali Safari told Iran’s state news agency IRNA that up to 43 million gladioluses and 2.4 million chrysanthemums would be picked up in Mahallat.

Mahallat florists plant 28 millions chrysanthemums annually. The region, in central-western province of Markazi, is the top chrysanthemums producer in the country.

172 million different species of flowers are produced every year in Mahallat, 6 millions of which are exported annually.

Mahallat is located 287 km south west of Tehran.
