Iranian nuclear negotiators and members of P5+1 will hold talks in Geneva ahead of the new rounds of nuclear talks in Vienna on June 16-20.
Today, June 9, the first meeting between the Iranian delegation and US delegation will be held in Geneva. The Iranian delegation is headed by Abbas Araghchi and the US is headed by William Burns.
Araghchi has already said that the talks would be trilateral with Catherine Ashton’s special aide Helga Schmid and US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns.
Iran’s delegation will depart for Rome after Geneva talks to attend Disarmament Conference to be held Wednesday and Thursday (June 11-12) and to meet in the sidelines with Russian deputy-FM Sergey Rybakov.
Iran and Powers will meet in the 5th round of nuclear talks in Vienna June 15-20. The last round of such talks in Vienna had little progress. Iranian negotiations attributed the failure to Powers’ excessive demands in drafting the comprehensive nuclear plan.
