Hassan Danaifar told Mehr News that Iran would address any proposal by Iraqi government to purchase weapons. He was reacting to the concerns voiced by the US over Iraq’s arms deal with Iran. “No such deal has been signed,” he added, “if Iraqis proposed to sign an agreement, Iran would address the issue.”
Reuters reported yesterday that Iran and Iraq had signed an arms deal worth $ 195 million in last November. Asked whether Iraqi foreign minister would visit Tehran, he told that Hoshyar Zebari would visit Tehran to solve issues of Arvand River. “The legal process has finished and both sides will discuss the implementation,” Danaifar added.
