Mehr News reported that Mohammad Reza Sadegh dismissed as baseless and not written by president Rouhani. Reuters had published the editorial quoting German daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung. Kuwaiti Al-Jarida had also published an editorial ascribed to Rouhani.
Despite the dismissal by the deputy-president of the editorials as fake, a UAE newspaper also released an editorial claimed to be written by Rouhani. It was also rejected by deputy-president. Sadegh told Mehr news that Mr. President had not published any editorial in any newspaper and if necessary, these editorials would be released by official website of the president.
About the content of the editorial claimed to be by the president, Sadegh told that the content would partly reflect the positions of the president; “but what would be the motive behind such publications of unfounded content,” he asked rhetorically.
President’s media adviser emphasized that certainly foreign newspapers would not heed Iran’s national interests and they seek specific objectives. “If we do not react to such content, the publishing media would go on other content publication against our national interest,” he asserted.
The recent publication of baseless content in Arab and western media would be scrutinized to find the objectives sought by these media. The publications would serve for these media as a mouthpiece to promote their own opinions articulated by Iranian officials.
