During a Senate hearing last week, Secretary of State John Kerry defended the recent sanctions deal, which provides relief to Iran in exchange for concessions on that nation’s nuclear-development program.
He urged lawmakers to hold off on new sanctions legislation, which President Obama could ultimately veto. The House last summer already approved new sanctions on Iran’s vital oil sector.
