TEHRAN, Oct. 30 (MNA) – Iran’s minister of urban development has said Mehr Housing project will be discontinued, but “we will finish incomplete houses.”

Mehr News quoted Abbas Akhundi in the sidelines of Cabinet’s weekly sessions speaking to the reporters. “We discontinue Mehr Housing project, but we will finish only the incomplete houses,” Akhundi said, adding that “the ministry will launch the Social Housing project to provide housing for the poor.”

Mehr Housing project had been launched by Ahmadinejad’s government for houseless Iranians, but Rouhani’s government decided to discontinue it, despite initial promise to continue the project.
