TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (MNA) – Iran’s defense minister has said country’s military diplomacy and defense policy will be “more dynamic than the past.”

Mehr News quoted Defense Ministry’s Defensive Promotions Higher office report that Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehghan speaking in the sidelines of 15th Marine Industries Conference. “In line with the policies announced by the Cabinet of ‘Prudence and Hope,’ country’s military and defense policies will be more dynamic than in the past,” said Dehghan.

Asked about the visits by foreign military delegations to Iran in past few weeks, Dehghan told that “we seek to develop a more active and dynamic defense policy for Iran with the objective to attain stability and security in the region.”

Iran’s military, defense diplomacy could help resolve misconceptions

The Minister of Defense also added that Iran’s defense diplomacy would pursue a policy of easing tensions and restoring security in the near future. “This is why we host foreign military delegations,” said the minister, and that “the presence of foreign forces in the region has contributed to the atmosphere of insecurity.”

“In our meetings, we convey the message to foreign military delegations that Iran is not a threat to countries in the region, and contributing to Iranophobia will be unavailing,” he added.

Iran hopeful of manufacturing 150-passenger plane

Dehghan also told that his ministry was responsible for project to design and manufacture wide-body planes. “We hope that with the hard work, a 150-passenger plane is manufactured. Perhaps it will be unattainable in one or two years, but we are approaching the goal,” he asserted.

Iran unparalleled in marine capabilities in the region

The defense minister responded the question about the 11th Cabinet plan for aerospace development. “ currently, we possess acceptable level of competence in manufacturing carriers and management and launching satellites, and the Aerospace Organization has come under the deputy president’s supervision,” he said.

We are ready to launch the new satellite

Dehghan told reporters that launching the new satellite will be carried out in due time by the Ministry of Defense.

Russia should act according to its commitments on S-300 agreement

Asked about the latest developments in Iran-Russia agreement on S-300 missile, Dehghan told that Iran lent much value to the agreement with Russia. “The Russian side should remain committed to its obligations and not to refrain from implementing it under the pretext of sanctions,” he added, and that “Russia should not let the US and its allies sabotage the implementation of the agreement, especially an agreement signed before the UN resolutions.”
