TEHRAN, Sep. 12 (MNA) – Former French Foreign Minister Hubert Védrine told Iran’s Velayati that he believes Iran is committed to the nuclear deal of July 14, 2015, known as the JCPOA.

“We are currently at a special phase of history, an the agreement signed in 2015 is of high value but the Americans are after undermining it,” said the former French Foreign Minister Hubert Védrine who met with Ali Akbar Velayati, the senior aide to the Leader of Iran, on Tuesday in Tehran.

“Presidential elections were held in your and our country and I think today the atmosphere is riper for interactions between Tehran and Paris,” highlighted the former French diplomat. “I think that Iran is willingly complying with the nuclear deal, and regardless of Americans’ stance, France supports the continuation of implementing the agreement, the same way as I get it, other signatories take it.”

“I hope that we manage to go through these difficult moments with helping each other,” said Mr. Hubert Védrine.

“Currently I hold no position in France but I always meet with French officials and I know that they hold a positive view about Iran,” stated the French FM of the Mitterrand time. “The future is full of opportunities that we can take advantage of.”

“Iran and France share the same view about following up the JCPOA but unfortunately there is no convergence in resolving the regional crises,” stated the former French FM, “but more discussions can be done about these issues.”
