TEHRAN, Jul. 12 (MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the Islamic Republic has always responded positively to all countries calling for help in the fight against terrorism.

President Hassan Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah in Tehran on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Iranian president called for collective cooperation from all regional countries in settling the many issues across the region, adding “terrorism, discord, and meddling of certain countries in others’ domestic affairs have further escalated tension in the Middle East, and more unity and cooperation are needed to resolve the existing conflicts.”

Rouhani stressed the Islamic Republic’s willingness to help regional countries in combating terrorism, noting the Iraqi government and the recent liberation of Mosul as such an example.

“The wrong decisions of certain countries have contributed to the emergence of many problems in Yemen, Syria, Bahrain and Qatar,” President Rouhani said, adding “the continuation of this trend will be harmful to all regional countries and the first to be hurt by these policies are the ones who actually adopt them.”

Rouhani also called for the implementation of various economic agreements between Iran and Oman in the fields of energy, ports, and north-south transit corridor.

The Omani foreign minister, for his part, deemed bilateral ties with Iran highly strong, adding “Iran’s various advancements particularly in achieving nuclear technology and the signing of the JCPOA have boosted the country’s influence in the region and the world.”

Alawi further hailed the Islamic Republic’s constructive and effective role in settling regional issues such as the Syrian crisis and combating terrorism.
