Each spring, thousands of government officials, journalists, civil society organizations, and participants from the academia and private sectors, gather in Washington DC for the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.
Seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world's financial markets will also be featured.
This year's Spring Meetings events will take place in Washington, DC, April 21-23, 2017 and a delegation of Central Bank of Iran will travel to the US to participate at the event.
At the heart of the gathering are meetings of the joint Development Committee and the IMF's International Monetary and Financial Committee, which discuss progress on the work of the World Bank Group and the IMF. Also featured are seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial markets.
The plenary session of the IMF and World Bank Group's Boards of Governors is scheduled only during the Annual Meetings in autumn.
Presence of banking and economy officials of countries at the meeting offers a good opportunity for bilateral meetings between member countries to enhance communication and cooperation.
