Following Al Khalifah's decision to postpone the trial of Bahraini prominent Shia cleric Ayatollah Shaikh Isa Qasim on Tuesday March 14, which demonstrates Bahraini authorities’ inability to carry out the process, Shaikh Abdullah al-Daqaq, issued a statement in which he congratulated the people of Bahrain on their recent victory against Al Khalifah.
The text of the statement is as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the most compassionate, the most merciful
I would like to congratulate the loyal and brave Bahraini citizens on their recent victory against the Al Khalifah regime. We witnessed it by our own eyes that if a nation is truly determined in their resolve, they will be able to defeat fate and overcome all hardships to reach their goal.
Our great nation has made history today; the tales of your courage and loyalty are so valuable that they deserve to be inscribed in gold.
Our beloved nation must be aware that Shia scholars and sources of emulation in the cities of Qom and Najaf have voiced their support for our revolution all along and are closely following the incidents relating to our popular uprising in Bahrain. In fact, the Shia scholars are so consistent in their pursuit of Shias’ conditions in Bahraini that their immense support excites me. These prominent figures will continue to voice their solidarity with Ayatollah Isa Qasim until their last breath. Therefore, the courageous Bahraini people must persevere in their fight against Al Khalifah and support their spiritual leader until their last drop of blood.
The Bahraini regime has delayed the verdict in the case of top Shia cleric, Shaikh Isa, to discourage the people from supporting and protecting him. Our fellow citizens are vigilant and will not be deceived by Al Khalifah’s plots. Bahraini Shias will continue this path to realize all their legitimate demands and their final victory.
