Airport visa now holding effect for 3 months

TEHRAN, Jul. 11 (MNA) – Head of Cultural Heritage Organization has said holders of Iranian visa received in airport customs would enjoy it for d 3 months from the date of issuance.

Massoud Soltanifar told reporters on Monday that the measure had been taken to meet the increasing demand by foreign tourists in the recent two years; “visa issuance constitutes an important part of tourism incoming to Iran and the government considered the issue accordingly in more positive view to serve foreign tourists,” he added. “Once effective only for 15 days, airport visas would not satisfy the needs of tourists trotting the diverse Iranian landscape and monuments; therefore, it was improved to 1 month; currently, citizens of 190 countries would receive Iranian visa in designated airport customs.”

Soltanifar announced that the a Cabinet session earlier in June improved further the efficacy of airport visa to 3 months; “9 airport customs offices in Imam Khomeini International Airport, Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz, Mashhad, Bandar Abbas, Larestan, Kish and Qeshm Island airports are designated for this type of visa, with Urmia, Ahvaz, Yazd, and Tehran’s Mehrabad Airports being in the queue for issuing the visa in terms of technicality,” he told reporters.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has mutual agreement with 12 countries to visa waiver; 28 other countries are target countries for future facilitation of visa issuance with Foreign Ministry official working on the details,” said the head of Cultural Heritage Organization.
