Intl. Resistance Film Festival to open in Iran

TEHRAN, Sep. 21 (MNA) – The opening ceremony for the 13th International Resistance Film Festival is to be held in Vahdat Hall today (September 21) at 19 PM.

Yazdani Ashiri, Director of Iran Cinema Public Relations, said, “Ali Larijani, Iran’s parliament Speaker, Brig. Gen. Mohammad-Reza Naghdi, head of the Basij paramilitary group, several senior officials, artists and families of martyrs will attend this conference in Vahdat Hall.”

Live Symphonic Orchestra will be conducted by Arash Amini in three pieces of “From Resistance to Victory”, “Gaza”, and “Sacred Defense Films Nostalgia”.

The event will be presented in the three sections of 'International Competition', 'Imad Moqniyeh Award' and the 'Outlook of Iran's Resistance Cinema in the World'.

In regard to the structure and architecture of the opening ceremony, Ashiri explained, “As designed by Mr. Heidari, this ceremony enjoys a modern structure called video mapping. Video mapping is a projection technology used to turn objects into a display surface for video projection. By using specialized software, a two- or three-dimensional object is spatially mapped on the virtual program which mimics the real environment it is to be projected on. In this way, audience will enjoy a completely different audio and visual experience.”

While the festival aims at expanding the ‘Culture of Resistance’, it welcomes the works with focus on the resistance of Muslims and the oppressed worldwide.

The festival marks Iran’s Sacred Defense during the 1980-1988 Iraqi-imposed war, when Iranian soldiers fought against the executed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s forces and defended the Islamic Republic against enemy aggressions.
